Too bad we went on a Monday tho.. many places were closed:( however, Purgatory exceeded my expectations as a "whiskey bar" the gals down at My best friends closet suggested it. They said food is really good and they were not wrong. I did have my grandson with me so I did not think it would work, but, plenty of great outdoor seating! I loved the decor, all the heavy wood pieces and seating. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a pic of the chicken breast sandwich. Our server was soo nice and made us feel welcome. While we were looking over menu she immediately brought water:) Answered all questions and was knowledgeable of menu. I was splitting my sandwich w/my 4 year old grandson, so I had to get everything on side. No problem. She never made me feel like it was too much to ask for and delivered everything with a cheery smile. the green sauce has a kick and I loved it!! homemade jalapeño sauce! came with the tacos but I wanted for my sandwich as I don't care for the smokiness of chipotle sauce. Definitely want to go back! ”

“ Visited on a Friday night around 7pm. The place was steady, but it wasn't too crazy. We sat outside to enjoy the downtown view, so I didn't get a good look inside. However, I did see a full bar with a bunch of table top seating as well as another room with table top seating. After being seated, we were greeted by our server in a timely manner. She promptly took our drink and appetizer orders. What I thought was surprisingly good was the fried Brussel sprouts with the side dressings. I ordered the fried chicken tacos on the servers recommendation. They looked awesome and I'm happy to report they tasted awesome. It was just enough food and I didn't feel over stuffed. Their garlic fries are also amazing. Great taste and just the right amount of crunch. Kind of reminded me of the fries at giants stadium. This was a great place with a cool vibe and tasty food. ”
